Salem, IN (October 27, 2017) – Hunter Jack finished his first full season with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, a season that was full of up and downs, against some of the best competition in the country. Jack, like his race team, never gave up and continued to compete throughout the season, no matter the finishes or bad luck. Jack finished fifth in the final season standings after the Championship Chase, he finished second in the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year standing after a season long battle with eventual Rookie of the Year Logan Runyon, but it went down to the final race before that award was decided.
For their hard work and never give up attitude, the Hunter Jack Racing team has been named the ARCA/CRA Super Series 2017 Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Year Award winners. The team led by car owner and father Brent Jack, gave 100% each week and more, to keep Hunter competitive at each series event and went way above to win the Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award twice during the 2017 season, tied for the most of any team in the series.
The team received their first Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award in the series event at Anderson Speedway on May 6th, the series third event of the season. Jack was involved in an early on track incident causing some damage to his racecar, but Jack’s crew went to work making repairs during several pit stops, then Jack worked his way back into contention to get a fifth place finish.
The team’s second Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award came at the August 12th, the team blew an engine in practice on the prior Tuesday night at the open practice at Kalamazoo Speedway for the Kalamazoo Klash event. The team missed the Kalamazoo event, but were able to get the engine replaced in time to race that Saturday night at Flat Rock, then made several pit stops during the event to make adjustments on the car enabling Jack to battle back and get a sixth place finish in the event.
Jack’s best finish of the season was a third place finish at the series event at Baer Field Speedway on June 19th. He also got a fourth place finish in the series Glass City event at Toledo Speedway on September 16th.
“I’m very proud of Hunter as a driver and our crew members for what we accomplished this season,” remarked Brent Jack. I want to thank each and every crew member on our team for their hard work this season including John Depew, Steve Carper, Todd Delong, Tyler Lanning, Tanner Jack and Denise Jack. We all work hard to accomplish our goals in racing, but all these people working together for Hunter is what made it such a great season. I want to thank Pitboxes.com and CRA for recognizing our team for that.”
“It’s a great honor for our team to win this prestigious award because my crew is family and even though we didn’t have the desired end we wanted, they worked their tails off on and off the track,” remarked Hunter Jack. “No matter what was thrown at us all season, we just never gave up!”
“We really appreciate Ricky Sanders at PitBoxes.com coming up with this great award,” remarked Glenn Luckett, Managing Partner with CRA. “Ricky wanted to create an award that recognized the people behind the drivers in our series. The drivers get recognition at each race, but with the Pitboxes.com Pit Crew Awards for each series event and the season, a lot of the hard working crew members for the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams get recognized also.”
Luckett added, “The Hunter Jack Racing team worked hard to get their car to the track and prepared for each race, but they also had a never give up attitude, no matter what happened to their cars in a race, they would work to get their car better and help Hunter get a good finish. We appreciate all their efforts this season!”
