Speed51.com Story – Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN) roars to life this Friday and Saturday, as the stars of the ARCA/CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series come together on the high-banks of one the nation’s most famous short tracks for the inaugural North/South Super Late Model challenge. The race will be part of a weekend that will feature four big races for three different short track touring series.
The Super Late Model combination event brings about a unique format that will see drivers from both series compete for championship points Friday night before squaring off against each other for the pride of their region Saturday night.
Separate 50-lap points paying races for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series will kick off the busy weekend on Friday night. The action carries over to Saturday where the top-12 finishers from Friday’s races will transfer into a $5,000 to win 75-lap non-points event. Four transfers from a last chance race and two provisional starters from each of the series will complete the 32-car field.
While Nashville is known for presenting custom guitars to winners of major racing events, this weekend the big winners will receive a Crosley Mini Jukebox. The jukebox servers as a great representation of Nashville’s prominence in the music industry.
Entries are aplenty for the Super Late Model race with names like Eddie Van Meter, Travis Braden, and Cody Coughlin representing the CRA, along with Bubba Pollard, Donnie Wilson, and Kenzie Ruston from the Southern Super Series.
Part-time drivers are also looking to score a jukebox with Kyle Busch Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stars Christopher Bell and William Byron joining the fray.
Also on the card Saturday night will be the Music City 200, the second race of the year for Stock Cars of the ARCA Racing Series. John Wes Townley looks to back up his victory at Daytona but will have to contend with the likes of Kyle Weatherman, Chase Briscoe, Tom Hessert, and local favorite Bobby Hamilton Jr.
Race fans that cannot make it out to Nashville this weekend don’t have to worry about missing the North/South Super Late Model Challenge. Speed51.com will carry the action from both days of Super Late Model racing with a live video stream beginning with qualifying on Friday.
