Griffith Jr. Wins Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Season Award for Second Straight Season

Salem, IN (October 18, 2016) – 2015 Cometic Gasket Season Hardcharger Award winner Wes Griffith Jr. has won the 2016 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award after 11 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS point events this season. Griffith Jr. went into the Winchester 400, the last series event of the season, with 30 gained positions, five ahead of second place Steve Dorer. Griffith Jr. did not have a good event at Winchester, dropping out with handling issues early in the event to finish 24th after starting 20th , but with Dorer not racing in the event, Griffith Jr. ended up one position ahead of Dorer to claim the award for the second straight season.

 

Dorer, a part-time competitor with the series from Lakeland, Florida, finished in second with 25 gained positions. 2015 series Champion Grant Quinlan finished in third with 18 gained positions. 2016 series Champion Cody Coughlin finished in fourth with 17 gained positions.  Thomas Woodin finished in fifth with 15 gained positions.

 

Cometic Gasket, the Official Gasket of the ARCA/CRA Super Series, will award a $600 bonus to 2016 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award winner Wes Griffith Jr. at the 2016 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet on Friday, January 6th, 2017. A driver had to be in the top 15 in series points to be eligible for this award.
