Fisher Jr. Claims First Ever CRA Street Stock Win at Winchester Speedway

Jenkins Claims First CRA Championship

Salem, IN (October 10, 2016) – Terry Fisher Jr. has been a CRA winner with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS in season’s past and was a three time winner with the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman this season, he can now add a CRA Street Stock Powered by JEGS win to that list after winning the series Season Championship 50 Saturday night at Winchester Speedway in only his second ever series start.

Former series Champion Jeff Lane took the early lead from his outside pole starting position after his son Colby, the Allstar Performance Fast Qualifier, drew a five for the events invert. Lane led the first b40 laps, fighting off the challenges of Nathan Green and Fisher Jr. on a couple of restarts, but then fell off the pace on lap 41 with a wheel bearing issue handing the lead to Fisher Jr. Fisher Jr. would stretch his lead out over Chuck Barnes Jr. over the last nine laps to win the event by almost three seconds.

“This is cool to get a win in this Street Stock,” remarked Fisher Jr. in victory lane. “It’s a blast to drive these cars, especially here at Winchester. I have to thank Roger Claywell for asking me to drive his car for him, it’s a really fast street stock. We ran well the first time out at Lucas Oil Raceway and got the job done tonight!”

2016 series event winner Barnes Jr. finished in second. A.J. Ridner came from his 28th starting position to finish in third and claim Hardcharger Awards from Van Hoy Oil and TCI. Josh Sage came from the back after having to pit to change a flat tire to finish in fourth place. Andrew Teepe finished in fifth place after starting 13th.

Teepe was the winner of the series 25 lap New Star event on Friday night. Matt Corliss finished in second with Sage in third.

Phil Jenkins was crowned the 2016 CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS by just starting the event. An early altercation caused heavy right front damage which would end his night early with a 24th place finish, but he was elated to celebrate his Championship after the 50 lap feature.

Jesse Collinge was awarded the $125 Van Hoy Oil Furthest Traveling Bonus after traveling 256 miles from his Swartz Creek, Michigan home to race in this weekend’s CRA Street Stocks events.

The next event for the CRA Street Stocks will be the 2016 CRA Awards Banquet which will take place on Friday, January 6th in Indianapolis at the Crowne Plaza Downtown at Union Station. More information on all the CRA series is available at www.cra-racing.com.
