Home Track of Berlin Raceway to see West Michigan star take on the premier Crate Motored Series in the country
Wyoming, Michigan (Thursday, July 30, 2015): For the past three seasons, Brian Campbell has been concentrating solely on the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS as well as his home track of Berlin Raceway in the tracks template bodied Super Late Model Series. Not since the 2012 racing season has Campbell competed in anything other than a template bodied Super Late Model. That’s going to change on Saturday, August 1st as the Wyoming, Michigan veteran will make his return to the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance.
His home track of Berlin Raceway will host the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour in the Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com & Boyne Machine Company. Campbell was the winner of the inaugural race for the tour back on April 23rd, 2011 at Toledo Speedway (OH) and in his last JEGS/CRA appearance, back on September 1st, 2012 at Owosso Speedway (MI), Campbell also went to victory lane. In just three career JEGS/CRA starts, he has two wins. Ironically he has never made a JEGS/CRA start at his home track, the fast 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval in Marne, Michigan.
“We’ve always had a great deal of success in the Crate Late Model stuff. We won the ASA Late Model Series Championship in 2009 and won a bunch of races in that series. That was a lot of fun,” Remembered the 36-year-old driver who scored seven career wins in an even 60 starts all-time in the ASA Late Model Series between the old tours Challenge and Northern Divisions. “It’ll be good to get back out there with the crate motor and see what we can do. I’ve always enjoyed running the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, but our schedule the last couple of seasons hasn’t let us race with the tour as much as we’d like too.” He added.
The last two races overall for Campbell were on July 24th at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) in the ARCA/CRA Super Series. After an accident took him out of contention in that race, the Wyoming, Michigan standout rebounded the next night back at his home track of Berlin when he scored his third Feature win of the season in the tracks Boyne Machine Company Super Late Model Series. Concentrating primarily on Berlin, he is second in the tracks mini-series points just eight markers out of the points lead with just two points nights left before the historic fairgrounds facility converts over to a dirt track for the month of September.
Despite missing two races within the ARCA/CRA Super Series, , he is still an impressive seventh in the season long point’s standings with two victories. Those wins came at Toledo on April 11th and at Berlin on May 16th. In those five appearances and in addition to the trips to victory lane, he has a seventh and an eighth place efforts to his credit and one Fast Qualifier award, also at Berlin on May 16th.
For the remainder of the 2015 racing season, Campbell’s familiar and popular white #47 Lakeshore Motorsports / Ford Fusion will carry sponsorship decals and support from Merritt Speedway as well as Enterprise Iron & Metal, Rusche Trucking, McGunegill Engine Performance, Sweet Manufacturing, Port City Racecars, Penske Racing Shocks, Driven Racing Oil, Handy Wacks Products and M.P.H.
