Atkinson Looks to Claim Second CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series Title
Salem, Indiana (Tuesday, June 23, 2015): The Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, IN, for the third and final event of the CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series, which featured three 200 lap, $3000 to win events. Colby Lane got the win in the first event of the Triple Crown on April 18th at Shadybowl Speedway holding off hard charging Jason Atkinson to get the win, his first ever CRA win. Mason Keller got the win in the second Triple Crown event at Kentucky Motor Speedway on May 24th, he also had to hold off Atkinson to get his first ever CRA win.
In addition to the $3000 to win for each event, there will be a Points Champion Crowned Saturday night from the three events who will receive a $1000 bonus. Second in points will receive a $500 bonus, then there will be another $500 bonus from a random draw from the cars that attended all three events. Crumrine Buckle Manufacturing will also award the overall Triple Crown Point’s Champion with a specially designed buckle.
Atkinson, the 2014 CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series and 2014 Series Points Champion, comes in to Saturday night’s Pull-A-Part 200 as the point’s leader in the 2015 CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series points and the series Season Championship points and has one series win so far this season, that came in the series last event on June 13th at Anderson Speedway. Atkinson is still looking to get his first ever CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series victory.
Keller comes in to Saturday night’s race second in CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series points, he is 16 points behind Atkinson. Josh Poore is third in Triple Crown Series points, he is 10 points behind Keller. Jake McElfresh is fourth in Triple Crown Series points, he is only two points behind Poore. Marcus Elliott Jr. is in fifth place in Triple Crown Series points, he is 10 points behind McElfresh.
Saturday’s event will be the fifth race of the season for the CRA Street Stocks and the third of four series events at Anderson Speedway in 2015. Robert Amos Jr. picked up the series victory at the first series event of the season at Anderson Speedway on May 9th, it was his first ever CRA victory. The series has now had three first time winners in the four series events held to date for the 2015 season.
There is an open practice on Friday, pits open at 4pm with open practice from 5 to 8pm. Gates open on Saturday at 3:30pm. Practice is set to begin at 5pm with qualifying for the CRA Street Stocks at 6:30pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include the Pull-A-Part 200 for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS. Also in action will be the Anderson Speedway Marcum Welding Pro Compacts and Legends.
