Fast Quarter Mile of Anderson Speedway up Next for JEGS/CRA All Stars

Salem, IN. (July 20, 2016) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head to the famed fast ¼ mile of Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, Indiana for this Saturday’s Pick A Part 100 Presented JEGS.com. In a season hurt by bad weather, Saturday’s race will be just the fourth event of the season for the Crate Motor Touring Series in its sixth season of competition. Past series winners at Anderson include Eddie Van Meter in last season’s event, Steve Dorer in 2014, Trent Snyder went to victory lane in the first three events at Anderson in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Cody Coughlin, the series 2013 Champion, is the series point’s leader heading into Saturday night’s race after taking the win in the series last event at Salem Speedway on June 18th. Coughlin is also the points leader in the ARCA/CRA Super Series were he has a series leading three wins so far this season. Coughlin’s Crew Chief Jack Smith is second in series points, he is 38 points behind Coughlin who has a second and fifth place finishes along with his Salem victory. Smith’s best finish this season was a second at Salem.

Trevor Berry is third in series points, he is 15 points behind Smith. Berry’s best finish so far this season was fourth at Salem. Phil Bozell is in fourth place, he is six points behind Berry. Bozell’s best finish this season was fifth at Salem. Brandon Oakley is fifth in points, only two points behind Bozell. The top five in points are all entered for Saturday night’s race.

Other top CRA drivers entered for Saturday night’s event include 2014 series Champion Dan Leeck, Dakota Stroup, 2015 series Rookie of the Year Quinnton Bear, Andy Bozell, Austin Kunert, D.J. Weltmeyer, along with a great group of VanDoorn Racing Development Rookie of the Year drivers lead by rookie points leader 13 year old Michael Clancy Jr., Jack Dossey III, Hope Hornish, and Joshua James. New Castle, Indiana racer Fred Hopkins is entered to make his 2016 series debut.

There is an open practice on Friday, pit gates open at 4pm with open practice from 5 to 8pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 1:30pm, practice will begin at 4:30pm with qualifying starting at 6:30pm. The race program will begin at 8 pm and will include the Pick A Part 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Also racing on Saturday will be the Anderson Hart’s Figure 8’s and Legends.
