Big O Classic Returns with JEGS Tour After 5 Year Hiatus
Nashville, TN – Officials with Champion Racing Association (CRA) and Owosso Speedway have made available the Entry Form for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Big O Classic at Owosso Speedway on Saturday, June 10th. The race is the first CRA sanctioned event at Owosso Speedway since 2017 and is the first of two scheduled events there in 2023, including the esteemed Masters of the Pros 184 in July.
Having undergone massive facility improvements over the off-season, Owosso Speedway has quickly become a must see Michigan facility in 2023; a perfect match for the can’t miss action of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Located in the heart of lower Michigan, Owosso Speedway sits nearly in the middle of some of Michigan’s most notable communities, with Lansing, the State’s capital, to its south, Metro Detroit to its southeast, Saginaw to its north, and Grand Rapids to its west.
The last time the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour unloaded at the Ovid, Michigan bullring in 2017, a familiar face went to victory lane. Now Redbud 400 champion, Kyle Crump held off Jack Dossey III and Kyle Hayden, who just recently won an open-wheel modified race at the same track. Other previous winners include modified standout and namesake of former ASA royalty, Travis Eddy, former NASCAR Truck Series competitor and now I-96 Speedway Dirt Late Model Champion, Chad Finley, and all-time ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Wins Leader, Brian Campbell has also won at Owosso.
The Saturday, June 10th Big O Classic serves as the only JEGS Tour tune-up race ahead of the 11th Annual Masters of the Pros 184 on Saturday, August 19th. The inaugural Masters of the Pros event was held at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri in May of 2013. The event remained there for four more years until it moved to Birch Run Speedway in Michigan in June of 2018. Memphis International Raceway host the race in 2019 before the Masters began a three year run (2020-2022) at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
