Dossey III Wins Second Straight JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship

Salem, IN. (October 23, 2018) – Defending 2017 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion Jack Dossey III came back to defend his Championship for the 2018 season and did just that by being the highest finisher of the four Chase for the Championship drivers in the October 13th JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lap season Championship event at Winchester Speedway. After having to wait a day because of rain, Dossey III went out and accomplished one of his primary goals for the 2018 season, getting a third place finish in that event, beating out 2018 DGR-CROSLEY Rookie of the Year Mason Keller for the Championship.

“I feel extremely fortunate to be able to win another title with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, we’ve had a lot of ups and downs this year,” remarked Dossey III. “I’ve learned that what you get by achieving your goals is not nearly as important as what you and your team become by achieving those goals.”

Dossey III had another great season with the series, getting three season high third place finishes in the series 10 events in 2018. Dossey III had a straight away lead in the Winchester Labor Day Weekend event until a tire went down on lap 71 resulting in hard contact with the outside retaining wall ending his night and hopes of his first series win. The team came back and were the Lisa-Thomas Fast Qualifier Award winners at the series next event at Fall Brawl at Lucas Oil Raceway and came away with a seventh place finish, second highest of the Chase contenders to put them in position to run for the Championship on Winchester 400 Weekend.

10.13.18 Champion Dossey III JEGSDossey III added, “We were in position to win a few times this year, but luck just didn’t seem to be on our side. Between losing a clutch at Bristol to blowing a right front tire at Winchester on Labor Day Weekend, it all weighed heavy on the whole team, but tough times don’t last, tough teams do. We stayed humble and determined and we did what we came here to do. Not only am I extremely grateful for my team but my sponsors as well. As always, Hart’s Auto Center, Mike Heimel Auctions, Hinchman Racewear, Lawrence Towing & Recovery and Auto Value Parts Stores, but also a couple of new names you saw on the car this year, Munns Construction and Norton Transport stepped in this year and helped us a lot and for that I’m thankful. My parents go above and beyond for this program and none of this would be possible without them.”

Dossey III and his team will not sit back and enjoy their Championship long, their 2018 season will continue with a huge event in December and they already have plans for the 2019 season.

“I’ll be running my first ever Snowball Derby in December at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and you’ll see us in Cordele, Georgia for SpeedFest 2019 in January”, commented Dossey III. “We plan to run for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship in 2019, while hitting a couple of the bigger JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour races also. I think we could do some great things in the super series and I’m excited to see what’s to come with that!”

Dossey III will officially be crowned the 2018 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion at the 2018 CRA Awards Banquet on January 11th, 2019 which will take place at the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown at Union Station. Dossey III ties Cody Coughlin with the most series Championships with two a piece, but Dossey III is the first driver to win consecutive series Championships.
