Concord, North Carolina (Wednesday, July 1, 2015): Daniel Hemric is one of the most touted up-and-coming drivers in the country.
During the past year-and-a-half he has won 10 Super Late Model races across America in a variety of series. Nine of those wins have come in the Carswell Motorsports No. 98 car. Hemric has vacated that ride at the request of his supporters and will now drive a potent Richie Wauters Super Late Model in a few of the country’s biggest races to close the season.
“I am still going to run the Snowball Derby, the Redbud 300 and the Winchester 400,” said Hemric. “It’s real big to be teaming up with Richie for the last big Super Late Model races of the year. He’s had some good talent in his race cars and he’s won a lot of big races. I’m excited to get in those races and hopefully pull off some past success I’ve had and together we can contend to win races.”
It was announced yesterday through Speed51.com powered by JEGS that Ross Kenseth, son of former NASCAR Cup Champion Matt Kenseth, will replace Hemric in the Carswell 98.
Hemric was quick to note how appreciative he is for all the Carswell team has done for him.
“Fortunately Jake and Deanna and I are still on good terms and Ross is the one in the car. I’m happy about that. I’m glad he’s the guy because he needed a deal,” Hemric told 51. “That team has meant so much to me and my career and we had some great times together.”
The first race for Hemric with the Wauters team will be the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway, just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday July 18th. Ironically, that will be the first race for the new combination of Hemric’s former team, Carswell Motorsports, and Kenseth as well.
At some of the Super Late Model events, Hemric will be a teammate of Dalton Sargeant, who currently competes on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Series.
Hemric is currently eighth in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points with one top-five and five top-10 finishes in his rookie season. He currently drives the California Clean Power number-14 truck for NTS Motorsports.
