Salem, IN (September 23, 2016) – The CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will return to action this weekend as part of the Wish For Our Heroes CRA Fall Brawl 2016 at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway, located just outside of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. The CRA Fall Brawl has become a very popular stock car racing event in central Indiana with each feature winner getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves. The four CRA divisions racing in the event include the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS and the CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS.
Sunday’s BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse 40 will be the 12th event of the season for the CRA Street Stocks and the fourth series event at Lucas Oil Raceway during the 2016 season. Sunday’s event will be the second to last series event of the season, the series final event of the season will be on Saturday, October 8th as part of the 45th Annual Winchester 400 Weekend at Winchester Speedway.
Veteran Phil Jenkins is the series Season Championship point’s leader after the series’ first 11 events of the 2016 season. Jenkins lead is at 66 points over second place Andrew Teepe. Jenkins has managed to keep the lead throughout the second half of the season with consistent top five and top 10 finishes, while others in the points have suffered DNF’s. Teepe led 19 laps of last Saturday night’s event at Anderson Speedway before getting a third place finish. Teepe has two second place finishes in 2016 as well.
Mason Keller is third in points, he is 29 points behind Teepe. Keller got a second place finish in last Saturday night’s Anderson event. James Kirby III is in fourth place, he is five points behind Keller. Kirby picked up a series win at Anderson Speedway on July 30th. Mason Keller is in fourth place, he is 18 points behind Kirby. Rookie Justin Oberlin is in fifth place, he has already locked up the series 2016 Rookie of The Year Award.
Other Series winners in 2016 include Josh Poore, with a series leading three wins including a win in the Shady Bowl Speedway 200 lap Triple Crown event on April 23rd, at Anderson Speedway on May 14th and at Anderson last Saturday night. Two time series winners include Austin Coe with wins at Lucas Oil Raceway on May 6th and on July 8th and Colby Lane with wins at Anderson Speedway on August 20th and September 5th at Winchester Speedway. Single event winners include Jason Atkinson in the Anderson Speedway 200 lap Triple Crown event on June 25th, Chuck Barnes Jr. in the Kentucky Motor Speedway 200 lap Triple Crown event on May 29th and Jeff Lane winner of the April 3rd series season opener at Lucas Oil Raceway.
The Wish For Our Heroes CRA Fall Brawl 2016 gets started on Saturday, with the pit gates opening at 9:00am. Practice starts at 12:30pm for all four CRA divisions, each division will get two rounds of practice. Qualifying for all four CRA Divisions begins at 4:30pm on Saturday to set their Sunday feature line-ups.
On Sunday pit gates open at 9:00am., with the CRA Drivers Meetings starting at 11:00am. There is an Autograph Session with all the drivers competing in Sunday’s events for the fans at 12noon. Racing will begin at 1pm and will include the Riley Hospital for Children 40 for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the Stacked Pickle 100 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, the BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse 40 for the CRA Street Stocks and the Wish For Our Heroes 100 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series to finish off the day.
