Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, April 15, 2015) – The Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will start their 2015 season this Saturday at Shadybowl Speedway located in De Graff, Ohio, the event was originally scheduled for April 4th, but was postponed because of weather and wet grounds. Saturday’s Door Buster 200 will be the first event of the CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series, that will feature three 200 lap, $3000 to win events. The other two events in the Triple Crown will be at Kentucky Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 24th and at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, June 27th. The event was originally scheduled for April 4th, but was postponed because of weather and wet grounds.
In addition to the $3000 to win for each event, there will be a Points Champion from the three events who will receive a $1000 bonus. Second in points will receive a $500 bonus, then there will be another $500 bonus from a random draw from the cars that attended all three events. Phantom Racing Gear, the official Apparel Company of CRA, will debut the 2015 CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series T-Shirts on Saturday, which will be available for purchase in the pits and behind the main grandstands.
Topping the list of entries to date for Saturday’s Door Buster 200 is 2014 CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Champion Jason Atkinson, who was also the 2014 Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Point Champion. The New Castle, Indiana native was a three time winner with the series in 2014, but is still looking to get his first Triple Crown win. Atkinson’s consistent Triple Crown finishes last year, that included a sixth at Shadybowl, a second at Kentucky Motor Speedway and a third at Anderson Speedway, won him the Triple Crown Championship.
Anderson, Indiana’s Josh Poore has entered to defend his 2014 Door Buster 200 win. Poore had to fight off a hard-charging Jimmy Kirby, who came from the tail of the field to battle Poore for the win. Kirby is also entered as his son James, the 2014 CRA Street Stocks Rookie of the Year. Bret Miles Jr., winner last year’s Anderson 200 is entered, as is Brett Hudson, winner of last year’s 200 lap event at Kentucky Motor Speedway. Two time 2014 series winner Jeff Lane is entered as is his son Colby.
Other CRA regulars entered include Brandon Mefford, Mason Keller, Derrick Layne, Larry Lathan, J.J. Schafer, Phil Jenkins, and CRA Late Model Sportsman competitor J.P. Crabtree. Former CRA Late Model Sportsman competitor Robert Amos Jr. will jump back into a Street Stock for the 2015 season and is entered for Saturday’s event along with his dad Robert Amos Sr., looking to also compete full time in a Street Stock in 2015. Owensboro, Kentucky natives Larry Roberts Jr. and Blake Hillard are also entered.
Also several series rookies are entered including Matt Clark, Daniel Adams and Marcus Elliott Jr. Several local drivers are entered including Beavercreek, Ohio racer Ricky Young, New Carlisle, Ohio’s Gordon Watson Jr. and Cable, Ohio’s Rodney Brugh.
There is an open practice scheduled for Friday from 4pm until dark. Gates open on Saturday at 11am. Practice is set to begin at 2pm with qualifying at 4:30pm. The race program will begin at 6pm and will include the Door Buster 200 for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks. Also in action will be the Shadybowl Compacts, Tuners and Pure Stocks.
