Salem, IN (April 27, 2016) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have released the entry form for the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics, which will take place at Berlin Raceway located in Marne, Michigan, on Monday, June 13th. 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion Erik Jones was the winner of last year’s Battle at Berlin 251 on his way to winning the 2015 JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown. Jones is scheduled to be back at Berlin on June 13th to defend his win.
The 251 lap event, sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, will pay $15,000 to win and $1,500 to start. The race will be a 10 tire event and will count caution laps. As previously announced the event will have a 5 minute break at lap 100 and a 5 minute break at lap 200. During those breaks teams will be able to change tires, add fuel and make adjustments. Teams will be relined up how they leave pit road after servicing their car during the breaks.
The Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics will be the first event of the 2016 JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown, which will pay a driver $100,000 bonus if a driver can win the Battle at Berlin 251, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway on July 16th, and the 45th Annual Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 9th. There is a $10,000 bonus if a driver can only win two of the events. If no driver wins two of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most points during those three events will receive a $5,000 bonus and the title of Champion of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown.
The order of entries received by CRA for the event will be the order for the event qualifying draw which will take place on Friday, June 10th, along with an open practice for all divisions competing that weekend and a Pig Roast. On Saturday, June 11th there will be Battle at Berlin 251 practice and first round qualifying to lock in the top 20 starters. Also on Saturday there will be a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event.
On Sunday, June 12th the track has scheduled an open practice from 2 to 5pm, pending township approval to make that official. The track is preparing for numerous fun activities for anyone on that Sunday, including a Pit Party and Michigan Cup Race viewing party in the Left Turn Lounge located at the track, a Michigan Cup race trip to Michigan International Speedway, a golf outing at Western Greens Golf Course and Go Karts, Mini-Golf, Lazer Tag and food at Craig’s Cruisers.
On Monday, June 13th there will be final Battle at Berlin 251 practice, second round qualifying, the Battle at Berlin 251 Last Chance race and the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics.
