Salem, IN (June 2, 2016) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have release the entries to date for the upcoming Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics Weekend coming up next weekend at Berlin Raceway. The events include the Berlin 100 Presented by Great Clips and JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance on Saturday, June 11th and the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS on Monday, June 13th.
Topping the list of the 61 total entries to date for the events includes 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion and current NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor Erik Jones, the defending winner of the Battle at Berlin 251. Also Georgia hot shoe Bubba Pollard, who is entered to do double duty, racing in both CRA events, as is top late model drivers Zane Smith, Steve Dorer, Cody Coughlin, the current points leader with the ARCA/CRA Super Series with three straight series wins, along with three time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny Van Doorn.
Other recognizable names on the entry list include Berlin Raceway CRA all-time winner Brian Campbell, 12 time Kalamazoo Speedway Champion Andy Bozell and son Phil Bozell, two time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Travis Braden, who will compete in next Friday’s ARCA Racing Series event at Michigan International Speedway along with Chad Finley and Dalton Sargeant, who are also both entered for the Battle at Berlin 251. Also entered are 2015 ARCA/CRA Super Series Grant Quinlan, 2011 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Derrick Griffin and 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion Dan Leeck.
The Battle at Berlin 251 will pay $15,000 to win and $1,500 to start, plus a $20 lap leader bonus for every lap lead. The Berlin 100 Presented by Great Clips and JEGS.com will pay $5000 to win, double the normal first place payout. More entries for both events are expected to come in over the next week prior to the event.
The Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics will be the first event of the 2016 JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown, which will pay a driver $100,000 bonus if a driver can win the Battle at Berlin 251, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway on July 16th, and the 45th Annual Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 9th. There is a $10,000 bonus if a driver can only win two of the events. If no driver wins two of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most points during those three events will receive a $5,000 bonus and the title of Champion of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown.
The Battle at Berlin 251Weekend will start off with an open practice on Friday, June 10th, pits open at 12noon, open practice will go from 4 to 8pm. Pits will open on Saturday, June 11th at 11am, practice will begin at 2pm, qualifying for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance at 5pm. Racing action will begin at 6:30pm Saturday and will include the Berlin 100 Presented by Great Clips and JEGS.com, $5000 to win, event for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Also racing on Saturday will be the Broaster Chicken ICAR Modified Tour and the Berlin Raceway Super Stocks.
Pits will open on Sunday, June 12th at 12noon, required tech will begin at 1pm with open practice going from 3pm and go to 5pm for the Battle at Berlin 251 cars. Pits open on Monday, June 13th at 11am, with practice beginning at 1:30pm. Qualifying for the Battle at Berlin 251 will begin at 4:30pm. There will be an on track autograph session with all the drivers beginning at 5:30 pm. The race program will begin at 6:30pm with the Battle at Berlin 251 Last Chance race, after that the pre-race festivities will begin for the Battle at Berlin 251, the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics will go green shortly after driver intros.
