Salem, IN (June 15, 2016) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Anderson Speedway. Saturday will be the second of five series events at the fast ¼ mile facility, battling against the top racers in the Anderson Speedway McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models. Saturday’s event will be the fourth event of the 2016 season for the series. This event was originally scheduled for June 4th but was postponed because of weather.
Current series point’s leader Terry Fisher Jr. got the win in the series last two events of the season, including the series event on April 16th at Anderson Speedway and the series last event on May 6th at Lucas Oil Raceway. Fisher has a four point lead over fellow CRA veteran racer Eddie Van Meter, who won the series season opener at Lucas Oil Raceway. Shawn Amor is only four points behind Van Meter in third place as the top three point contenders have finished in the top five of each series event so far this season. Rookie Brandon Barcus is in fourth place, he is 15 points behind Amor. Tony Brutti is in fifth place, he is only four points behind Barcus.
Jeff Marcum is the current points leader with the Anderson Speedway McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, he got the win in their series last event on May 21st. Jack Dossey III picked up the win in their 2016 season opener on March 26. Joe Woodring is second in points, Brian Morrow is third, Kent Carson is fourth and Danny Trent is in fifth place.
Pit gates open on Saturday at 3:30pm, practice will begin at 5pm with qualifying at 6:30pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include a 75 lap feature for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS. Also racing in Saturday night’s program are the Anderson Speedway Street Stocks and Figure 8’s and Thunder Roadsters.
