CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks Double Header at Anderson Speedway Saturday Night

Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, June 10, 2015): The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS and the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, IN in a special double header event that will see both CRA divisions battle in 75 lap features.

 

Saturday’s event will be the third point’s race of the season for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, and the second of four series events at the fast ¼ mile facility in 2015, battling against many of the Anderson Speedway McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models contenders. 2014 series Rookie of the Year Jack Dossey III got the victory at Anderson on May 2nd in the series point’s season opener, it was Dossey’s first ever CRA victory. Jason Atkinson got the victory in the series second point’s event of the season at Lucas Oil Raceway on May 8th.

 

With his victory Atkinson comes into Saturday night as the series point’s leader by 13 points over second place J.P. Crabtree. 2014 series Champion Greg Van Alst is third in series points, 19 points out of first place. Rookie Matthew Parsons is in fourth place, only two points behind Van Alst. Dossey is in fifth place, six points behind Parsons.

 

Saturday’s event will be the fourth point’s race of the season for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks and the second of four series points events at Anderson in 2015. Saturday’s event will be the final tune up for the June 27th Indy Pull-A-Part 200, the final event of the CRA Street Stock Triple Crown Series, which included three 200 lap, $3000 to win events. Knightstown, Indiana’s Colby Lane got the win in the first event of the Triple Crown on April 18th at Shadybowl Speedway, while Mason Keller got the win in the second event on May 24th at Kentucky Motor Speedway.

 

Saturday’s event will once again feature the best CRA Street Stock drivers competing against the best Anderson Speedway Street Stock drivers. Keller’s win at Kentucky was the series last event. Lane’s victory was in the series point’s season opener while Robert Amos Jr. picked up his first ever CRA victory at the series event at Anderson Speedway on May 9th.

 

Atkinson, the 2014 CRA Street Stock Champion, comes into Saturday night’s event as the series point’s leader. Jake McElfresh is in second, 24 points behind Atkinson. Josh Poore is in third place, he is eight points behind McElfresh. Keller is in fourth place, 10 points behind Poore. Lane is in fifth place, he is eight points behind Keller.

 

Dossey, the 2014 Anderson Speedway McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models points Champion, comes into Saturday’s race leading the points once again in that division with two wins already in 2015. Calvin Parham has a win in the Anderson Speedway Street Stocks this season and comes into Saturday night as that divisions point’s leader.

 

There is an open practice on Friday, pits open at 4pm, practice will go from 5 to 8pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 3:30pm, practice will begin at 5pm with qualifying at 6:30pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include a 75 lap feature for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS and a 75 lap feature for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks. Also racing in Saturday night’s program are the Kenyon Midgets with heat races and a 30 lap feature.
