Toledo Speedway Story – Toledo, Ohio (April 11, 2017): Delaware, Ohio native Cody Coughlin, the reigning ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS champion, hit the track at Toledo Speedway today in preparation for the Saturday, April 22 Spring 200 season opener at the fast ½ mile paved oval. Coughlin will compete in the ARCA/CRA Super Series 100 lap contest, while the outlaw-bodied ARCA Super 6 Gold Cup Late Models will provide the action in the other 100 lap feature event.
A familiar face around the Glass City oval has surfaced with the Coughlin Racing Team for 2017. Former Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway Late Model champion and NASCAR Truck Series winner Terry Cook has joined the group as a driver coach for Coughlin this year. Terry’s father, Harold, also a former Flat Rock and Toledo Late Model champ, was also at the track, while veteran Crew Chief Kevin Hamlin once again leads the team.
Coughlin is also the defending race winner of the ARCA/CRA Super Series portion of the Spring 200 at Toledo and will be back April 22, leading the field of entries for their 100 lap contest.
The young Coughlin enjoyed tremendous success in 2016, coupling his ARCA/CRA Super Series title with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Late Model crown also last season, notching 6 wins in the process enroute to the two crowns.
Cody, 21, will also compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with ThorSport Racing for the 2017 campaign.
