Salem, IN (October 27, 2016) – 2016 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion Cody Coughlin and Tristan Van Wieringen will share the 2016 Boyne Machine Company Season Fast Qualifier Award. The award is given to the driver who earns the most Boyne Machine Company Fast Qualifier Awards during the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season, which consisted of nine series points ‘events in 2016.
Both Coughlin and Van Wieringen earned three Boyne Machine Company Fast Qualifier Awards during the 2016 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season. Coughlin set a new track record when he was the Boyne Machine Company Fast Qualifier at Salem Speedway on June 18th and at Anderson Speedway on July 23rd. He was also the Fast Qualifier at the Labor Day Weekend series event at Winchester Speedway.
Van Wieringen established a track record when he was the Boyne Machine Company Fast Qualifier at the first ever series event at Spitzer Motor Speedway on August 5th. He was also the Fast Qualifier for the series event at Owosso Speedway on September 10th and at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 24th.
Three other competitors were Boyne Machine Company Fast Qualifiers during the season including Trevor Noles who set a new track record at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on May 14th, 13 year old Carson Hocevar who set a track record at Berlin Raceway on June 11th and Travis Braden who was the Fast Qualifier at Winchester Speedway on October 7th.
Coughlin and Van Wieringen will both receive a $250 cash bonus from Boyne Machine Company for splitting the award. Those bonuses will be presented at the 2016 CRA Awards Banquet on Friday, January 6th at the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown at Union Station.
