DuroByte Motorsports Story: (June 15, 2017) – DuroByte Motorsports and 14 year old driver Michael Clancy Jr. have started their exciting 2017 racing season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance as they get ready to head to another fast high banked track, Salem Speedway, located in Salem, Indiana, which is only the series second event of the season, thanks to two events being postponed already because of weather. The season opening event that was scheduled for Baer Field Speedway was postponed until Saturday, July 22nd and the Masters of the Pros 144 at Lebanon I-44 Speedway was postponed until Monday, July 3rd.

The team started its 2017 season off with the Short Track U. S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on May 21st competing against some of the best racers from around the country, to try and earn a victory at the track deemed Last Great Colosseum.

“Bristol was an amazing event and I feel we did really well, “remarked Clancy Jr. “I cannot wait to go back there again! I feel we would go back even better than we were this time.”

“Our team was very satisfied with our performance at Bristol Motor Speedway remarked crew chief Jimmy D Smith. “We qualified comfortably into the show and we were moving forward in the field until contact with another car ended our night. Michael did an amazing job at by far in the biggest race of his career. Michael handled the pressure of an intimidating venue and the faster speeds of the track very well, we were all very proud of him.”

Clancy Jr. is ready to come back to Salem, were as a 13 year old rookie, he came from his 18th place starting position in only his third time behind the wheel of his JEGS Tour car in last year’s Midwest 100, to get a sixth place finish. That sixth place finish tied his top finish of the season with the highly competitive series.

“The high banking and speed of Salem always make for a great race,” added Clancy Jr. “Salem was one of my favorite races last season and I am excited to return to the track. With weather interfering with some of our events on the schedule so far, I am really looking forward to racing this weekend. I always feel like we will have a good car and feel the same preparing for Salem.”

“Some of the tracks the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour attend have a lot of banking and are very fast, Salem is definitely one of them,” added Smith. “Michael handled the speed and banking of Bristol so I have no concerns with him at Salem. He had a good finish there last year and we are looking to continue to work to improve. We are all just hoping Mother Nature will decide to cooperate this weekend, she’s already been interfering with our schedule this year!”

The team will have a busy week as they are entered in Monday’s $20,000 to win Money in the Bank 150 at Berlin Raceway, were Clancy Jr. will make his Template Super Late Model debut racing against some of the best drivers in the country including NASCAR stars Kyle Busch and Erik Jones.
