Chad Finley Ready to Compete With ARCA/CRA Super Series

Mooresville, North Carolina (Wednesday, September 23, 2015): After a long layoff from late model racing, Chad Finley will finally get the chance to get behind his No. 42 Auto Value/Airlift Company Ford ARCA/CRA Super Series late model this coming weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway. Located just west of Indianapolis, Finley has seen everything but victory lane at the 0.686-mile oval.
Just one week after his second start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Chicagoland Speedway on September 19th, the 23-year-old driver is looking to change up his luck. “We had a great truck at Chicago last weekend, but unfortunately luck just wasn’t on our side again.” After making a scheduled stop under green at lap 80, the caution flag would be displayed just one lap later trapping Finley and the RJR team 2 laps down. After making up one of those laps and rallying to what looked like was going to be a Top -12 finish, with under 8 laps to go the fuel pump cable broke and ended the run for the Rette/Jones Racing Team.
“I was very disappointed with how our race ended in Chicago,” the Dewitt native stated following a 21st place finish. “We had such a strong run both days, and it looked like we had a very promising truck at the end. But there is nothing we could do about it. We just have to keep our heads up and keep digging.”
The Chad Finley Racing Team is preparing to head up north for the McGunegill Engine Performance Fall Brawl. A two-day show with practice and qualifying on Saturday, and Racing on Sunday. This race last year, Finley saw some success with racing both his crate and super late models. He set fast time and brought home third with the ARCA/CRA Super Series, and qualified 2nd quick with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.
“I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of my late model this weekend. This year we’ve had such a stretched out schedule that I feel like it’s been forever. I’ve had some very good finishes here in the past, but this weekend I’m looking to bring home the trophy. I feel we’ve prepared a very good racecar, and I think it will be one to contend with come Sunday.”
For the rest of the 2015 racing season, Finley will partake in select events within the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour when his schedule allows. In addition, he’ll also race in more events within the Southern Super Series as well as CARS Super Late Model Tour.
