Chad Finley Coming Home To Race In Battle At Berlin 251

First race of the season in the home state

Mooresville, North Carolina (Monday, June 15, 2015): The first major Super Late Model race of the 2015 racing season is set for Tuesday, June 16th at Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan. The Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS also serves as the first race of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown Series. The purse for this event exceeds $100,000 and that was enough for Chad Finley to come back home to the Great Lakes State.

“It’s pretty nice to be home for a bit and see my family and friends and I’m really looking forward to Berlin. We’ve ran very well there in the past so we will be focused on that for sure.” The 23-year-old driver from DeWitt, Michigan stated as he comes back to his home state from his current residence in Mooresville, North Carolina. “I feel I’ve been learning a lot and our program has really picked up since joining forces with Rette/Jones Racing. We have been trying lots of things and it will be nice to get on the track in my home state.” He added.

In Finley’s last events, a doubleheader weekend of Southern Super Series racing on May 22-23rd saw Finley take on the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida as the home of the Snowball Derby hosted the R.S. Rubber and Specialties 100. Then the following day a short trip south and west to another 1/2 mile, this time Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama will complete the weekend with the Miller Lite 100.

After winning the Fast Qualifier award at Five Flags, a flat tire cost him a chance at a win in the 100-lap main while the next night, Finley came away with a solid fifth place showing at Mobile. “The Gulf Coast swing was bitter sweet for us. We had such an awesome car at Pensacola and was truly looking forward to going to victory lane. Then we had a flat right rear. It was heart breaking to say the least.” He continued. “Mobile was pretty good until the rear suspension had an issue. Still brought home a top five. So we’ll dig deep here at Berlin and see if we can put it all together.” He ended.

For the rest of the 2015 racing season, Finley will partake in select events within the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour when his schedule allows. In addition, he’ll also race in more events within the Southern Super Series as well as CARS Super Late Model Tour. Also plans call for Finley to make some starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series later in the year starting on Friday, August 14th at Michigan International Speedway.
