Casey Johnson Takes The Next Step Into The ARCA Midwest Tour

With Success at MIS, Rookie of the Year Candidate is Ready For the Joe Shear Classic

by Fay Hendricks
April 22, 2014 – Casey Johnson joins the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment this year after several years of racing, stating, “I chose to run the ARCA Midwest Tour because I thought that it would be the next step for me and my team after having success in limited late model racing. The prizes to win the Rookie of the Year made it a very easy decision.”

Johnson began racing in the limited late model field at Jefferson Speedway in Wisconsin. “I’ve raced there for five seasons with two track championships in the late model division” Johnson said. Johnson added, “After getting my feet wet we decided to travel with the Big 8 Series full time for the past two seasons,” which ended with Johnson earning the 2013 Big 8 championship. Other successful moments came in Johnson’s racing last year, winning the Triple Crown Championship in his rookie season in a super late model at Madison International Speedway.

Johnson will return to MIS with the ARCAMT for the 6th Annual Joe Shear Classic on May 4th. With the impressive super late model Triple Crown Championship at the track in 2013, Casey has already proven that he has what it takes to take on the Tour and be a strong contender in the event.

Johnson looks forward to the 2014 season with the ARCA Midwest Tour, claiming, “This season to me is the biggest test as a driver I’ve had, competing against the Midwest’s best drivers and teams.” Johnson’s goals include, “To finish in the top five in points and win the Rookie of the Year.” Look for Johnson’s familiar number 5 machine sporting Lein Acres, UAW Region 4 and Hougan Farms on the Pathfinder chassis.
