Bud St. Amant Memorial Event Moved to June 27th at Columbus Motor Speedway

Event Information

Salem, Indiana (Friday, June 5, 2015): Officials from Champion Racing Association (CRA) Powered by JEGS and Columbus Motor Speedway announced today, that one of the most popular events of the 2014 racing season at the track has been rescheduled. The Bud St. Amant Memorial featuring the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS late models was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon August 23.

Gary St. Amant, multi time National Champion and current Crew Chief for multiple teams in CRA, was originally scheduled to be the promoter for the August date. Changing situations brought about the need for him to step back from the role of promoter for the event.  “My obligations with the race teams I work with really increased and I was not able to dedicate the time I needed to do the event properly,” Bud’s son Gary noted.  “I have a vision of how I want the event to be when I promote it, and since I wasn’t able to organize the way I wanted, I felt it was best to have the track handle my Dad’s memorial event this year, with help from sponsorship secured by Jeff Miller and his JVM Enterprises.  I appreciate their efforts to continue to honor my Dad and my hope is to announce some exciting things for next year.”

With the August event scratched from the Columbus Motor Speedway schedule, the event to honor multi time championship owner and crew chief Bud St. Amant will now be part of the already scheduled ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Columbus on June 27.

CRA officials also noted that they have secured a replacement venue for the August weekend originally scheduled at Columbus, and will announce the details the beginning of next week.
