Event Information – Entry List
Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, July 29, 2015): The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head to Berlin Raceway located in Marne, Michigan for this Saturday’s Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com and Boyne Machine Company, which will be the fifth series event that the tricky 7/16 mile facility has hosted. Past series winners at Berlin Raceway include Bubba Pollard, Travis Braden, Mike Bursley, and Terry Van Haitsma.
Coming into Saturday night’s race Dalton Armstrong is the series point’s leader after five events, including getting his first series win in the series season opener at Springport Motor Speedway. Armstrong was the Fast Qualifier for the prestigious Battle at Berlin 251 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series on June 16th. Armstrong finished ninth in last year’s series Berlin event. Series veteran Josh Nelms is second in points after getting his first series win on May 23rd at Columbus Motor Speedway. Nelms is 27 points behind Armstrong in series driver points. Nelms finished 13th in last year’s event at Berlin Raceway.
Former Kalamazoo Speedway Champion Phil Bozell comes into Saturday’s event third in driver points, he is 45 points behind Nelms. VanDoorn Racing Development Rookie driver Quinnton Bear is fourth in driver points, he is five points behind Bozell, he had a series best second place finish at the series Dixie Motor Speedway event on July 10th. Fellow rookie Austin Kunert is fifth in driver points, he is 19 points behind Bear.
Other top series drivers entered includes 2013 and 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Travis Braden, winner of the 2013 series event at Berlin, who has been behind the wheel of the Bill Burba owned #26 for the last three series races and has taken them to second in series owner points. Braden picked up his first ARCA Racing Series victory last Friday at Lucas Oil Raceway in his first ever start with that series. Also entered are brothers Marc and Jaxson Jacobs, Kody Evans, 12 time Kalamazoo Speedway Champion Andy Bozell, series rookie Kevin Zielezinski, former series winner Corey Deuser, series veteran Jack Smith, who finished second in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Redbud 300 on July 18th, as well as part-time series Michigan drivers Trevor Berry, Eric Lee and Jerry Andrews.
Several local drivers are also entered including 2012 event winner Mike Bursley, former promoter of the track, who will make his first CRA start of the season, plus Berlin Super Late Model competitors Chris Koslek, Lauren Bush, Chris Anthony, Jordan Dahlke, Seth Moody, Alec Carll, Tim Greene and Berlin Modified regular Ben Welch. Former ASA National Series competitor Dave Sensiba will make his 2015 series debut along with Illinois racer Jake Kinney.
There is an open practice on Friday, pit gates open at 3pm with open practice from 4 to 8pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 12:30pm, practice will begin at 3pm with qualifying starting at 5pm. The race program will begin at 6:30 pm and will include the Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com and Boyne Machine Company for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Also racing on Saturday will be the Berlin Raceway Modifeds, Sportsman and 4-Cylinder divisions.
