Berlin Raceway Announces Changes in the Break Format for the Battle at Berlin 251

Salem, IN (June 1, 2016) – Berlin Raceway officials have announced some changes in the break format for the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics, sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, which will be held at Berlin Raceway on Monday, June 13th. After listening to several race teams’ needs and concerns, the track has decided to alter the way the teams will reline up after the two breaks. For the lap 100 break, the leader will draw for an invert of a 5 to a possible 10 car invert for the restart on lap 101. At the lap 200 break, the top five in the running order will redraw for the line-up for the restart on lap 201 for the final 51 laps of the event.

 

With the change CRA officials have announced that the advanced entry deadline has been extended to this Friday, June 3rd. Teams entering the event after June 3rd will have to pay a late fee. Teams can contact the CRA office to enter in advance or mail in the event entry form by this Friday to receive the discounted advance entry fee.

 

The Battle at Berlin 251 will pay $15,000 to win and $1,500 to start, plus a $20 lap leader bonus for every lap lead. The race will be a 10 tire event and will count caution laps. The tires for the Battle at Berlin 251 will be Hoosier F45’s on the right and Hoosier 3035’s on the left, Berlin Raceway will be the tire distributor for this event.

 

The Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics will be the first event of the 2016 JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown, which will pay a driver $100,000 bonus if a driver can win the Battle at Berlin 251, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway on July 16th, and the 45th Annual Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 9th. There is a $10,000 bonus if a driver can only win two of the events. If no driver wins two of the Triple Crown events, the driver who accumulates the most points during those three events will receive a $5,000 bonus and the title of Champion of the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown.

 

The Battle at Berlin 251Weekend will start off with an open practice on Friday, June 10th, pits open at 12noon, open practice will go from 4 to 8pm.  Pits will open on Saturday, June 11th at 11am, practice will begin at 2pm, qualifying for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance at 5pm. Racing action will begin at 6:30pm Saturday and will include the 100 lap, $5000 to win, event for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Also racing on Saturday will be the Broaster Chicken ICAR Modified Tour and the Berlin Raceway Super Stocks.

 

Pits will open on Sunday, June 12th at 12noon, required tech will begin at 1pm with open practice going from 3pm and go to 5pm for the Battle at Berlin 251 cars. Pits open on Monday, June 13th at 11am, with practice beginning at 1:30pm. Qualifying for the Battle at Berlin 251 will begin at 4:30pm. There will be an on track autograph session with all the drivers beginning at 5:30 pm. The race program will begin at 6:30pm with the Battle at Berlin 251 Last Chance race, after that the pre-race festivities will begin for the Battle at Berlin 251, the Battle at Berlin 251 Presented by Primera Plastics will go green shortly after driver intros.
