Bear Joins MMM For Berlin ARCA Race

Speed Sport News Story – Mooresville N.C. – 2015 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year Quinnton Bear will make his ARCA Racing Series debut Saturdayevening at the Berlin Raceway, driving the Karl Chevrolet No. 98 for Mason Mitchell Motorsports.

“Every driver hopes for getting that one opportunity to shine and show what he is capable of doing behind the wheel,” Bear said. “Not only am I getting the opportunity to drive in ARCA, but to drive with a well prepared team that knows how to get to victory lane is a big deal.”

“Berlin is a very finicky track. Hitting your marks every lap is difficult, but saving tires at Berlin is even more challenging. It’s fun because it is so challenging from a driver’s standpoint, and you’re able to race side-by-side with drivers without making contact. I’ve never raced on a radial tire, and word is they fall of a lot faster, so I need to be smooth behind the wheel and save the tires for long runs and keep all the fenders on it because this place loves downforce as well.”

While Bear will be making his ARCA debut, he has three prior starts at the .438-mile track in late model competition. In his three starts Bear earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes, with a best effort of third last August. He has an average starting spot of 3.6 at Berlin.

In his rookie season racing with the JEGS/CRA All Star Tour, the 20-year-old earned six top-fives and seven top-10s, with a best finish of second in 11 starts en route to a runner-up finish in the championship.

Bear will be behind the wheel of chassis No. 593 out of the MMM stable. The chassis has 10 ARCA starts, most recently racing last week at Pocono Raceway.
