Bear Family to be a Sponsor at ARCA/CRA Super Series Bud St. Amant Memorial

$1250 in Lap Leader Bonuses added to the Purse

Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, September 9, 2015): Champion Racing Officials Powered by JEGS have announced that Freddie and Tina Bear, parents of JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance VanDoorn Racing Development Rookie of the Year point leader Quinnton Bear, are joining the list of sponsors for this coming Sunday’s Bud St. Amant Memorial event at Columbus Motor Speedway. Part of that sponsorship will include lap leader money for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 Presented by Oakley Blacktop event on Sunday.

The sponsorship will be in the honor of Quinnton’s younger brother Bryce, who passed away in 2006. Even only being 4 and 1/2 years old at the time of his passing, he had already been in quarter midgets and was prepping to follow in the steps of his older brother.  According to father Bear, “If Bryce was still with us, everyone would have seen him racing this past weekend at Winchester with his brother.  Bryce would have been in the JEGS Tour race and Quinnton in the Supers…he would have been pushing everybody!”

The Bear family wanted to show their support for the Bud St. Amant Memorial, after spending the season with Bud’s son Gary as the crew chief for Quinnton.  “We know how special father and son relationships are, and we appreciate all the learning that Gary has done through his father.  This race will be a great family event, and we are excited to sponsor the event and lap leader prize in memory of Bryce.”  In addition to being one of the sponsors of the entire event, the Bear family has posted $1250 in lap leader money, with $10 going to the leader of each lap of the Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 Presented by Oakley Blacktop.

“We are happy to support promoter Jeff Miller in his event to honor Gary’s dad Bud, and happy to add some money to the racer’s pocket with the lap leader money in memory of Bryce,” Bear further noted.  “Columbus is home court for our crew chief and we were really strong the last time we were there.  We are looking forward to this weekend on many different levels!”

The Bud St. Amant Memorial event on Sunday, September 13th will also feature the Broaster Chicken Top Speed Modified Tour in the Jason Dietsch 50 Presented by One Call Lawncare North/South Shootout event as well as the Tom Whiteside Auto Sales Compact Challenge 40. JVM Enterprises previously announced that former NASCAR Sprint Cup competitor Jeremy Mayfield will be at the Bud St. Amant Memorial to race with the ARCA/CRA Super Series and will be signing autographs for fans.

On Sunday, September 13th pit gates will open at 9:30am. Practice will begin at 12noon, with qualifying at 2pm. The Race Program will begin at 3:15pm and will include an on track autograph session with all the drivers competing in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 Presented by Oakley Blacktop.
