Charlotte, North Carolina (Tuesday, May 12, 2015): Berlin Raceway (MI) is the next stop on Hunter Baize’s schedule. The Kentucky teenager has started the season off strong and currently sits 2nd in the ARCA/CRA Super Series points standings following a 4th place finish at Anderson Speedway (IN) on April 26, 2015. In addition to success in the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Baize finished 2nd in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season opener at Springport Motor Speedway (MI) on May 3, 2015. He currently is tied for the points lead in that series.
Baize heads to Berlin Raceway (MI) this coming Saturday looking for his first career Super Late Model win in only his fourth start. The tricky 7/16-mile Raceway plays host to the Berlin 251, a marquee event on the ARCA/CRA Super Series schedule every year. Saturday’s Berlin 125, although still a points event, is a tune-up event for next month’s Berlin 251.
“I’m very excited to head back to Berlin, the site of my first ever CRA fast time award, and a track that our team knows extremely well,” Baize said. “I feel we can be extremely competitive this weekend, and I can’t wait to get to the track. ”
Baize will pilot the familiar No. 13 Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood Ford Fusion fielded by Van Doorn Racing Development. Johnny and Butch Van Doorn of Van Doorn Racing Development have had success at Berlin Raceway (MI) as well, most recently winning the Berlin 251 in 2013.
This season Baize’s Van Doorn Racing Development Pro and Super Late Model race cars will carry sponsorship from Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood, B&K Wood Products, Kawasaki, Wood-Mizer, and Steel City Bolt.
