Huntersville, North Carolina (Wednesday, July 22, 2015): Coming off one of the most impressive performances of his young career, Hunter Baize knows the trends needs to continue. The 17-year-old driver heads to Lucas Oil Raceway (Ind.) for the running of the The Circle City 100 Presented by Greg Hubler Chevrolet to continue his bid for the 2015 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.com Championship and Rookie-of-the-Year award.
The Bremen, Kentucky native scored a top-three finish in the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 last Saturday at the historic (0.250) 1/4-mile Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, Ind. After starting 14th, he raced his way up to second-place by halfway, and after a fierce battle with the eventual winner and NASCAR Xfinity winner Erik Jones, he went on to finish third.
This weekend the 0.686-mile, Lucas Oil Raceway is the site of The Circle City 100 Presented by Greg Hubler Chevrolet. In addition to the ARCA/CRA Super Series, the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards will be in action. Baize’s ARCA Racing Series team, Ken Schrader Racing, will be in action. This weekend, NASCAR legend Ken Schrader will be driving the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts car in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 Presented by Federated Car Care. Baize will jump behind the wheel of the Federated Auto Parts No. 52 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich., next month in the Federated Auto Parts 200.
“Lucas Oil Raceway is a cool venue,” Baize said. “It’s one of the bigger race tracks on the ARCA/CRA Super Series schedule and draws a lot of top drivers and teams because of NASCAR being so close during the weekend. It will be fun to race against the best-of-the-best. I know the guys at VRD (Van Doorn Racing Development) will give me a fast car. I’m looking forward to getting on track on Friday.”
Next on Baize’s schedule is the Federated Auto Parts 200 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. He will make his ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards debut driving for NASCAR Legend Ken Schrader and Ken Schrader Racing on August 8, 2015. Baize has many laps around the Berlin Raceway. In 2014, he won a fast time award in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event and this year in the ARCA/CRA Super Series, has a top-10 finish, a ninth at the track. Following his ARCA Racing Series debut, Baize will return to the seat of his No. 13 Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood Super Late Model for two races in four days at Kalamazoo Speedway (Mich.) and Flat Rock Speedway (Mich.) respectively.
