Huntersville, North Carolina (Wednesday, July 15, 2015): Yes, Hunter Baize still races and yes, it feels as if the No. 13 Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood Super Late Model hasn’t been on the race track in a long time. That is all about to change as Baize embarks on one of the most hectic stretches of not just this season but his entire career. First up is the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 as part of the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 Weekend at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, Ind.
Baize and his No. 13 Hunter Baize Racing team led by Van Doorn Racing Development will continue their chase of the ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship, as well as the Rookie-of-the-Year this coming Fridayand Saturday. Bremen, Kentucky’s Baize finished fourth in his last appearance at the tough (0.250) 1/4-mile Anderson Speedway (Ind.) in the Madison County Community Health Center 125 on Sunday, April 26, 2015. That impressive run, which saw the 17-year-old battle for the lead before getting sent to the rear on a controversial call, propelled him to an impressive stretch of top-10 runs, including a win at Illiana Motor Speedway (Ind.) in the Calypso Lemonade Chicagoland Showdown on Memorial Day.
The Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 is race No. 6 in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS season. It is also the second race in the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown Series. This year’s edition of the 300-lap event will feature NASCAR Drivers Erik Jones, Daniel Hemric, and Ross Kenseth. Along with the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300, Anderson Speedway (Ind.) hosts many other marquee events throughout the year such as the Little 500.
“I’m extremely excited for the Redbud 300,” Baize said. “We showed a ton of speed at Anderson (Speedway) (Ind.) earlier this season. I’m hoping we’re able to showcase that speed once again against the top competition in Late Model Racing.”
Following the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300, Baize will head to Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR) located in Brownsburg, Ind., for the Circle City 100 Presented by Greg Hubler Chevrolet on Friday, July 24, 2015. The ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards will also be racing that evening. Baize’s ARCA Racing Series team, Ken Schrader Racing will field No. 52 Federated Auto Parts car in the ARCA 200. Baize will pilot a No. 52 for the team in the Federated Auto Parts 200 on August 8, 2015, at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich.
This season Baize’s Van Doorn Racing Development Pro and Super Late Model race cars will carry sponsorship from Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood, B&K Wood Products, Kawasaki, Wood-Mizer, and Steel City Bolt.
