Huntersville, N.C. (September 14, 2015) – In racing, you have your ups, and your downs. The last three races for the Bremen, Ky., native have been “down,” at least when it comes to results. While running fifth in Sunday’s Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 Presented by Oakley Blacktop at Columbus Motor Speedway located in Columbus, Ohio he suffered a mechanical failure that relegated him to a very disappointing 15th-place finish.
The 17-year-old driver started 13th in the No. 13 Federated Auto Parts / Bicycle Playing Cards / Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood Super Late Model. He quickly moved forward, wasting no time. He raced up to the third position and was poised to battle for his third ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS win of the season as the race wore on. Running fifth with two laps to go, Baize slowed on the front straightaway. He finished 15th.
“Again, I’m not really sure what to say,” Baize said. “These guys work way to hard, to be robbed of another good finish. The last three weeks haven’t been kind to us, but we’re not giving up. We will go to Lucas Oil Raceway (Ind.) in two weeks, and like always give it our best.”
Baize will pilot the No. 13 Federated Auto Parts / Bicycle Playing Cards / Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood Super Late Model on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Lucas Oil Raceway (Ind.). Each year the CRA Fall Brawl is one of the biggest Late Model events in the country. This year’s edition of the event will be race No. 13 in the season-long chase for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship. Baize, even with his recent bad luck, remains third in the points standings with just two events remaining.
For the remainder of the 2015 season Baize’s Van Doorn Racing Development Pro and Super Late Model race cars will carry sponsorship from Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood, B&K Wood Products, Federated Auto Parts, Bicycle Playing Cards, Kawasaki, Wood-Mizer, and Steel City Bolt.
