Auto City Speedway up Next for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

Salem, IN. (August 9, 2016) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will return to action this Saturday in the Dog Days of Summer 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Auto City Speedway located in Clio, Michigan. Saturday’s event will be the second of three straight Saturday night events for the series. The series was at Spitzer Motor Speedway last Saturday were Travis Braden got the win, the series will be at Columbus Motor Speedway on Saturday August 20th for an event that was postponed from May 28th because of weather.

 

Saturday’s Dog Days of Summer 100 Presented by JEGS.com will be the series fifth race at Auto City Speedway. Past winners include 2012 series Champion Daniel Henric in 2012, local racer Robbie Johnson in 2013, another local racer Eric Lee won in 2014, and Dalton Armstrong who won last season’s event, it was one of two wins he got last season on his way to claiming the 2015 series Drivers Championship.

 

Topping the list of entries is Cody Coughlin, the series 2013 Champion, who is the series point’s leader heading into Saturday, he has two series wins so far this season including Salem Speedway on June 18th and Anderson Speedway on July 23rd. Coughlin has a second place finish, a third place finish and a fifth place finish in the other three series events contested so far this season. Coughlin is also the points leader in the ARCA/CRA Super Series were he has a series leading three wins so far this season. Coughlin is also competing in selected NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events during the 2016 season for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

 

Other top CRA drivers entered for Saturday’s event include 2013 and 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Travis Braden, who won the Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 last Saturday, 2014 series Champion Dan Leeck,  Brandon Oakley, Phil Bozell, Dakota Stroup, Austin Kunert, Andy Bozell, Trevor Berry, Tristan Van Wieringen, Jerry Andrews, Fred Hopkins, along with a great group of VanDoorn Racing Development Rookie of the Year drivers lead by rookie points leader 13 year old Michael Clancy Jr., Jack Dossey III, Hope Hornish, and Joshua James.

 

Lakeland, Florida’s Steve Dorer is entered, Dorer races in select CRA events each summer. Former ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competitor Hunter Baize is entered to compete in his first CRA event of the season for Scott Neal Racing, Baize competes full-time with the NASCAR K&N Pro North Series. 13 year old Carson Hocevar is entered to make his third start of the season, his first two starts both resulted in top five finishes, Clarity Newhouse is also entered. There are several local drivers who compete in selected series events that are entered for Saturday’s race including 2014 winner Eric Lee, Travis Eddy, David McManus, Kyle Crump and Kyle Hayden.

 

There is an open practice on Friday, pit gates open at 2pm with open practice from 4 to 8pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 1:30pm, there will be a one hour practice session for CRA from 4 to 5pm. Boyne Machine Company Qualifying will begin at 6:15pm. The race program will begin at 7:30pm. There will be an autograph session with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour drivers prior to their feature, which will take place after driver intros. There will also be racing action from the Auto Speedway Pure Stocks and the MRC Dwarf Cars, plus a Figure 8 race to end the night.
