Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, April 22, 2015) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will return to action this Saturday night at Anderson Speedway, the famous high-banked quarter mile racetrack located in Anderson, Indiana, which has hosted more Super Series events than any other track since the series’ first ever event on Saturday, April 26, 1997. Anderson Speedway has hosted a total of 56 series events to date. Former two time series champion Brian Ross is the all-time series victory leader at Anderson Speedway with nine victories.
This will be the only opportunity for the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams to get some racing on the tight quarter mile prior to the prestigious Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300, which will take place on July 18th. With the support of local business Mitch Smith Auto Service, Saturday’s event will now pay $4000 to win and $2000 for second, which is an additional $1000 to win and an additional $500 for second.
A tough group of racers are entered for Saturday’s Madison County Community Health Center 125 topped by Chicagoland veteran Eddie Hoffman who will be piloting the always tough TK Racing #71. Hoffman has nine series victories to his credit including a win at Anderson Speedway in what was the Anderson 400 in 2005. Hoffman is looking to have a good run Saturday in preparation for the Redbud 300.
Also entered is fellow Illinois racer Trent Snyder, a three time winner at Anderson Speedway in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Snyder has moved up from the JEGS Tour and will run a limited schedule with the ARCA/CRA Super Series in 2015.
2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion Cody Coughlin is entered. Coughlin picked up his first series win at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day last year. Coughlin is running a schedule of ARCA Racing Series and Super Late Model events in 2015, and hopes to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut later this season.
Other top CRA drivers entered for Saturday’s event includes 2014 Series Rookie of the Year Wes Griffith Jr., Brett Robinson, Brandon Oakley, Eddie Van Meter, Paul Shafer Jr. and Ohio veteran racer Jeep Pflum. The series has a great group of registered Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year candidates entered for Saturday night’s race, including former JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competitors Grant Quinlan, Hunter Baize and Tom Woodin, along with Jordan Pruitt, Matt Hall and 2013 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Champion Mark Lambert.
Former JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour regular Corey Deuser is entered to make his series debut Saturday night. 2014 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Champion Greg Van Alst is entered in the Scott Neal Racing #4. Van Alst received a one race ride in the SNR car in 2015 for the 2014 JEGS Win a Championship and a Ride Program. Jack Dossey III will also make his series debut Saturday night. Dossey was runner-up in the 2014 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman points to Van Alst and the series Rookie of the Year as well as the 2014 Anderson Speedway McGunegill Engine Performance Late Model Champion.
There will be an open practice at Anderson Speedway this Friday, pits open at 3pm and practice will run from 4pm until dark. Pits open on Saturday at 12noon. Practice will begin at 3pm with qualifying starting at 5:30pm. The race program will begin at 7pm and will include the Madison County Community Health Center 125 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series plus racing from the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series in the 100 lap Glen Niebel Classic. Anderson Speedway has also announced that the rain date for Saturday’s event is Sunday, April 26th.
