Salem, IN (September 16, 2021) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday in the Peterman Brothers Heating, Cooling & Plumbing 75 at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, IN. Saturday’s event will be the fourth of four series events at Anderson Speedway during the 2021 season.
Saturday’s event will be the ninth event of the season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Jason Atkinson got the win in the series season points opener on April 17th at Anderson Speedway. Chuck Barnes Sr. won a special non-points series event at Salem Speedway on April 25th. Atkinson got the win in the Four Crown event at Shadybowl Speedway. Chuck Barnes Jr. picked up the win in the series event at Salem Speedway on May 15th. Atkinson won the next three events including the Four Crown event at Winchester Speedway on June 6th, the series event at Mt. Lawn Speedway on June 13th and the third Four Crown event of the season at Anderson Speedway on June 26th. Brett Hudson got his first series win of the 2021 season at the Four Crown Championship event at Anderson Speedway on August 14th, Atkinson won the Four Crown Championship.
With his five wins and two second place finishes in the series seven-point events this season, Atkinson comes into Saturday night’s event as the series season points leader and is locked into the Chase for the Championship final four as the series Regular Season Champion. The other Chase for the Championship drivers competing for the final three spots to race for the series Championship at Winchester Speedway on Saturday, October 16th includes Andrew Teepe, Jordan Hahn, leading series rookie Dawson Phillips, fellow rookie Kimmie Grieg, Josh Poore and Frankie Oakes. There are only two Chase for the Championship events until the Championship race at Winchester, the first is Saturday at Anderson, the second is at the Fall Brawl at Lucas Oil Raceway on Saturday, October 2nd.
There will be an optional open practice at Anderson Speedway this Friday, pits open at 3:30pm, with open practice from 4:30 to 7:30pm. Pit gates open at 2pm on Saturday. Practice will begin at 4:30pm with qualifying beginning at 6pm. The race program is set to begin at 7:30pm and will include the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in the Peterman Brothers Heating, Cooling & Plumbing 75. Also racing that night will be the Byrider 75 for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and the USSA Midgets.
