Anderson Speedway Confirms Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman to Race on June 6

Salem, IN (May 26, 2020) – Anderson Speedway officials confirmed today that the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will have their 2020 season opening event on Saturday June 6th. The event will be raced with no fans in the stands.

As with the tracks prior open practices, all safety protocols will be enforced including social distancing in the pits. Anyone showing any of the symptoms of the Covid virus will not be permitted in the pits. The front spectator stands will be inaccessible to competitors. The Speedway highly recommends each team to bring only necessary and essential crew members. Ample sanitizing stations have been installed for hand sanitation.

“Although this is not the ideal situation I want, it is all we can do at this point” said Rick Dawson, President of Anderson Speedway. “Racing is a spectator sport, and myself and the racers enjoy racing in front of their fans. If all goes as planned, Stage 4 of the Governor’s plan takes effect in three weekends from now and currently we have a big night planned to welcome everyone back to the track.”

Due to the unique nature of this event, all pit passes will be $35 on Saturday, June 6th. Delicious food will be available in the pit concession stand. Race times for June 6th will be altered to begin racing activities at 3pm. A complete schedule of events will be released in the coming days. There will be an open practice on Friday, June 5th from 4 to 7pm.
