Salem, IN (March 24, 2015) – The 6th Annual Cabin Fever Championships, a Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS promoted event, will take place this Sunday at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway located in Brownsburg, Indiana. The event will feature racing from the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS, the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS, the Broaster Chicken I.C.A.R Top Speed Modified Tour and the Vores Compact Touring Series.
Fans will be treated to 170 laps of feature racing action Sunday with 40 lap features for the CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks, plus a 40 lap feature event for the Top Speed Modified Tour and the 30 lap Vores Cup feature for the Vores Compact Touring Series and the 20 lap Lawrence Towing Cup for the Vores Compact Touring Series, who have over 65 cars pre-entered for their events. In all fans could see close to 150 racecars competing in Sunday’s events.
Sunday’s race will be the season opener for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS, which will be the 10th season of competition for the series that crowned its first Champion in 2006. Keith Sterkowitz was the inaugural series Champion in 2006, he was also Champion in 2011. Other Champions include 2007 Billy Hutson, 2008 Tony Dager, 2009 & 2010 Charlie Hanna, 2012 K.C. Spillers, 2013 Mark Lambert and defending Champion from 2014 Greg Van Alst. Sunday’s event will be the first of 10 CRA point events for the series and the first for Lucas Oil Raceway Championship points.
Sunday’s race will also be the 2014 season opening event for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS, which will be the 11th season of competition for the series that crowned its first Champion in 2005. Dean Baker was the inaugural series Champion in 2005. Other series Champions include 2006, 2007 & 2009 Joe Beaver, 2008 Bret Miles Jr., 2010 Steve Christman, 2011 Jeff Lane, 2012 Jimmy Kirby, 2013 Dustin Burge and defending Champion from 2014 Jason Atkinson. Sunday’s event will be the first of 12 CRA point events for the series and the first for Lucas Oil Raceway Championship points.
There is an open practice on Saturday, pit gates open at 11am, open practice will go from 1 to 5pm with rotating sessions for all four divisions. Pit gates open on Sunday morning at 8am, practice will begin at 10am with qualifying at 12:30pm. The race program will begin at 2:00pm with any last chance races that are needed, and will be followed by the 170 laps of feature racing. General admission tickets will be sold day of the show, adult tickets will be $20, students 6 to 12 will be $5, children five and under will get in free.
