Mike “Lumpy” Lemke to be roasted on eve of Champions Banquet
The Midwest Tour is excited to announce the plans and official invitation for the 2012 Championship celebration. Both the Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings and the SCAG Midwest Truck Tour Champions will be honored on Saturday, February 2nd at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. The Rookies of the Year, and several other drivers will also be recognized at the banquet for their achievements during the 2012 season.
The Champions Banquet is open to anyone paying for an event ticket. All event tickets for Friday and Saturday must be purchased by January 20th, 2013 in order to reserve your seat. Details are listed on the event invitation along with a dress code (tie required, no jeans allowed). New this year is the addition of the Friday night festivities that will also take place at the Chula Vista Resort on Friday, February 1st . This casual event will feature a comedic roast of the Midwest Tour’s own tech director, Mike “Lumpy” Lemke. Complimentary appetizers and beer add to the night of laughs sponsored by B&B Racing Engines and Powersource Racing Engines. The event will be something fans “won’t want to miss” as drivers and friends with over 25 years of stories and laughs will highlight an evening titled “Paybacks are Hell”
The roasters list continues to grow as many of those that have been hassled by “Lumpy” will be ready to take their shot back at him all in fun. A long list of names including Jeff Storm, Danny Fredrickson, Brad JJ Mueller, Russ Blakeley, Jerry Wood, and many more will highlight the evening. The event will be hosted by Roast Master Andy “Bart” Bartelt whom recently hosted the “Roast of Mark Mackesy”.
Saturday afternoon a family event will take place at the Chula Vista water park prior to a 5pm cocktail hour to mingle and talk about 2013 racing plans. A formal dinner will begin at 6pm followed by the awards ceremony at 7pm.
