19-Year-Old Quinnton Bear Returns To JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour With First Appearance At Berlin Raceway

Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year points leader ready for new challenges in West Michigan

Avon, Indiana (Thursday, July 30, 2015): Quinnton Bear was very happy with his first legitimate start behind the wheel of a Super Late Model. The opportunity came in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS on July 24th at the immaculate 0.686 mile progressively banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway (IN). The Circle City 100 Presented by Greg Hubler Chevrolet saw Bear strap in the #01 West Virginia University / Chevrolet normally driven by Two-Time Reigning ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, Travis Braden who was concentrating on making his debut later that night with the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards. A race that the Mountaineer State driver won in front of a live TV audience.

In Bear’s second official start in Champion Racing Association’s (CRA) premier tour, his first was in 2014 when he strapped on 10-inch Hoosier slicks to his CRA Late Model Sportsman Series car, the 19-year-old driver qualified 11th out of a strong 29-car field and would steer Braden’s car, renumbered #94 for Bear but still carrying the colors of West Virginia University to an impressive ninth place finish. With Car Owner and Father, Fred Bear’s towards the future for the Avon, Indiana teenager and an eventual move up to the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. That time has come.

“First of all I want to congratulate Travis Braden and his entire racing team on winning in his very first ARCA race. What an awesome accomplishment. Great Job Travis.” The Avon, Indiana teenager stated. “We had a pretty good race car once we unloaded we were in the top five in practice and I was very excited and feeling good about our chances. Once the track changed though, I felt we lost a little in our set up and we never gained it back. We did accomplish a top ten finish out of it. And yes that’s a huge accomplishment for me in my very first Super Race.” He added.

“I learned so much about the car and track. I feel when we come back my Crew Chief, Gary St Amant will have me one fast hot rod. Very excited for the return.” Added the Hoosier State driver after competing at his home track. “The team worked very hard to get the car better in the race so my hat goes off to them for a great finish. They never gave up and we kept fighting to make the car better and they did.”

Still happy about his ARCA/CRA Super Series start, Bear and his Quinnton Bear Racing Team will get back into JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance mode on Saturday, August 1st. Bear will make his first start at the famed 7/16s (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, located west of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan in the running of the Berlin 100 Presented by JEGS.com & Boyne Machine Company.

“After a disappointed finish at the Redbud weekend, we are all looking forward to Berlin this weekend. The Guys at McGunegill have been working hard to get my new engine finished and I am excited to see what this rocket will do” He added. “I do feel very good about our chances this weekend. I know all about how tricky that track is. But Gary (St. Amant) has been there many times so I feel very good about having a well balanced race car. A big thanks to all of the sponsors for all their support of our race team.” Bear ended.

In the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour so far in 2015, he’s the top freshman on the tour while sitting fourth overall in points. To his credit he has two top five finishes with a season high finish of a second at Dixie Motor Speedway (MI) on July 10th in the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com. His two top five’s also account for his two top 10 showings and he is one of only two drivers to have competed in every JEGS/CRA race this season when including the non-points SpeedFest 2015 back in January at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA).

In West Michigan and for the rest of the 2015 racing season in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Bear’s familiar white and black #94 Buzze Racing / Quinnton Bear Racing / Chevrolet will have additional sponsorship decals and support from  Bear’s Lawn Service as well as Bassett Racing Wheels, Sparco, PGG Enterprises, McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H. Promotions.
