19-Year-Old Quinnton Bear Ready To Finish JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Season Strong

With an eye on the overall Title, Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie points leader ready for final three races

Avon, Indiana (Thursday, September 17, 2015): As 19-year-old Quinnton bear continues on with his very hectic 2015 racing season, the Avon, Indiana teenager knows that it’s almost over and all the hard work will soon pay off in one way or the other. In addition to running the full schedule of events within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance he has also been making select appearances within the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS with an eye towards the 2016 campaign.

In his last ARCA/CRA start in the2nd Annual Bud St. Amant Memorial Presented by Oakley Blacktop on Sunday, September 13th at Columbus Motor Speedway, Bear qualified 12th quick out of 26 cars on hand at the 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked, circular shaped paved oval located southeast of the Buckeye State capital city in Obetz, Ohio. In the race however, an electrical issue forced the Hoosier State teenager to drop out 33 laps from the end and he would be shown 17th in the final rundown.

Now Bear will get back into JEGS/CRA mode beginning with a return trip to Springport Motor Speedway, the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval located north of Jackson and south of Lansing in Springport, Michigan on Saturday, September 19th. The Michigan Cup 100 Presented by JEGS.com will offer a chance at a bit of redemption for Bear who, in the first appearance at the track back on May 3rd, answered the call for the main, but would be unable to turn a lap due to broken Trailing Arm suffered under the pace laps.

“The Bud St. Amant Memorial didn’t go as planned for the #94 team. The car just wasn’t there for us all day and lacked some drive off the corner. (Crew Chief) Gary (St. Amant) and my guys are looking through the car this week making sure they didn’t miss any bent parts or broken ones from the wreck at Winchester.” Explained Bear as he and his team prepare for the final trip of the year up to the state of Michigan. “I’m very excited for Springport. Last time we were there I feel that we had a fast race pace car and we need to redeem ourselves this weekend and go for the win.” He ended.

Within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, he is the top freshman in the chase for the coveted Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title by a wide margin while sitting an impressive third overall in points. He has four top five finishes with a season high showing of a second at Dixie Motor Speedway (MI) on July 10th in the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com. His top five’s also account for his four top 10s as Bear is the only driver left to have competed in every JEGS/CRA race this season including the non-points SpeedFest 2015 in January at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA).

Also in his four ARCA/CRA Super Series starts, two in the Travis Braden Motorsports ride and two in his own JEGS/CRA legal car utilizing a crate motor, Bear has recorded two top five finishes with a career high second place finish at Kalamazoo Klash XXIII in the Boyne Machine Company 125 at Kalamazoo Speedway (MI) on August 12th. He also has three top 10 showings as he and his Quinnton Bear Racing Team plan on racing in the remaining two ARCA/CRA races on the schedule and still keep his 2016 Rookie eligibility intact for the full schedule next season.
