18-Year-Old Quinnton Bear Ready For Run At Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie Title In JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

CRA Late Model Sportsman Series graduate ready for the next step up the ladder and contend for the overall title

Avon, Indiana (Tuesday, April 28, 2015): It’s been awhile since 18-year-old Quinnton Bear has been on the race track. Not since SpeedFest 2015 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia on January 25th. That was the last time the Avon, Indiana teenager made his JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance debut in the non-points Champion Racing Association (CRA) Powered by JEGS traditional season opener. The 125-lap main proved to be a learning experience for the Hoosier State driver who finished 15th.

Now it’s time to get down to business for Bear as he will make a run at the 2015 Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. The first official points race is set for Sunday, May 3rd as the 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval of Springport Motor Speedway, located north of Jackson and south of Lansing in Springport, Michigan will host the Cabin Fever 100 Presented by JEGS.com. Like many of the tracks on the 2015 schedule, this will be Bear’s first ever appearance at the southern Michigan speed plant.

“I’m really excited to run my first official points race. We’ll be adjusting to new tracks for the most part all season long, but we did it all last year, so we should be alright,” Bear relayed as he and his Quinnton Bear Racing Team make final preparations for the trip north to the Great Lakes State. “It’s going to be a whole new level of competition. and hopefully we can open a few eyes this season and show what we’re made of.” He added.

The 2014 racing season for 18-year-old Quinnton Bear had its share of ups and downs in the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series Powered by JEGS. He finished third in the freshman points while also securing a sixth place finish overall all the while running his first season ever in a full-bodied stock car. He was the only rookie to win a race as he scored two victories including the biggest one of his career to date; The Winchester 50 during the 43rd Running of the Winchester 400 Weekend at the legendary high-banks of Winchester Speedway (IN) on October 11th. His other trip to victory lane came at the fast 1/4 mile of Anderson Speedway (IN) on September 13th.

Overall he scored three top five finishes which also accounted for his three top 10s. Seven of the 10 races conducted resulted in at least a top 15 finish while two other finishes in the top five were wiped out in post-race tech due to an engine issue. He also scored one Allstar Performance Fast Qualifier Award which came at Angola Motorsport Speedway (IN) on August 10th.

Prior to running with the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series, Bear was a multi-time Quarter Midget National, Regional and State Champion. Racing in Quarter Midgets from 2005-2010, amongst his accomplishments include three times a National Champion as well as a two-time Grand National Champion which came in back to back years in 2009 & 2010. He was also a two-time Regional and State Champion with over 100 career Feature Wins over his Quarter Midget career on both dirt and pavement.
