DuroByte Motorsports Team to roll with Canadian teenager for the rest of 2015
Corunna, Michigan (Wednesday, September 2, 2015): For 17-year-old Tristan Van Wieringen, the remainder of the 2015 racing season will see the Amherstburg, Ontario teenager will run the rest of the schedule within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance. DuroByte Motorsports placed Van Wieringen in the last JEGS/CRA race at Auto City Speedway (MI) back on August 8th and he was scheduled to race at Owosso Speedway (MI) on August 29th, but that event was canceled due to rain and will not be rescheduled.
After qualifying an impressive fourth quick out of 24 cars at Auto City, brake problems knocked him out of the race. Now the team will head to the fast 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway (IN) for the Labor Day Holiday Weekend World Stock Car Festival. Van Wieringen is eager to get back behind the wheel in his second race since returning to the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour in the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com which kicks off the prestigious weekend at the legendary Eastern Indiana speed plant.
“The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour field is strong as always, but I feel we have a really good shot. I know my Crew Chief, Jimmy D. Smith will give me the best car he possibly can and my team will make sure we’re 100% ready to go,” Offered the Canadian teenager as he and the DuroByte team prepare for the road trip to the Hoosier State. “I’m very happy to be back in the Pro Late Model and going to Winchester is really something special. I’m hoping for a solid finish and build some momentum for the rest of the JEGS/CRA season.” He added.
Van Wieringen recorded a 10th place finish in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour points in his rookie season behind the wheel of a Late Model in 2014. His freshman year was highlighted by an impressive third place finish at the famed Milwaukee Mile (WI). Throughout the 2015 campaign prior to getting back behind the wheel of the DuroByte Pro Late Model, Van Wieringen is still an impressive fifth in the season long driver’s point’s standings in the ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour Northern Division. His best finish was a fourth place showing at Springport Motor Speedway (MI) back on June 20th, which is one of his two top five finishes. He has also recorded five top 10 showings as well.
For the rest of the 2015 season within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Van Wieringen will pilot the #81 DuroByte Motorsports / Ford Fusion and will have sponsorship support and decals from Nalett Trucking, Howe Racing Enterprises, JEGS.com, Keyser Manufacturing, Fastenal Corporation, Phil Harper Motorsports by Ilmor, AR Bodies, and M.P.H.
