Qualifying Results – OFFICIAL Race Results
Anderson, Indiana (Saturday, May 2, 2015): Jack Dossey III had an interesting Saturday night at Anderson Speedway, but when it was over he found himself back in victory lane.
Dossey took the lead on the seventh lap with an inside pass of early leader Jason Atkinson on the front straight following a restart.
Dossey appeared to have lost a chance for the win with 10 laps remaining after contact with Greg VanAlst in Turn 2. The two front-runners restarted in fifth and sixth.
VanAlst, the defending Vore’s Champion Racing Association Sportsman champion, was black-flagged on Lap 70 when he spun on the back straight into the infield and then stopped on the race track, bringing out the caution flag.
Dossey worked his way back to second and when leader Tony Brutti spun in Turn 1 after contact on the front straight it put the high school sophomore back into the lead.
That put Dossey back on the point for a two-lap shootout, and he was able to pull away from Jason Atkinson and JP Crabtree.
It was a race of attrition, with only seven of the 16 cars that started the 75-lap feature running at the finish.
Hard luck befell Ronnie Rose who was running second after 24 laps but on a restart was bumped from the rear and lost three spots. He was black-flagged on Lap 36 for a fluid leak while running fifth.
Third-place running Matthew Parsons was collected on Lap 48 when Rick Segvich spun coming off the second corner after contact with Hunter Jack and was hit by the car of Chris Brann. With no room, Parsons made contact with Segvich and the outside back straight wall. Parson was able to continue racing.
