14-Year-Old Hunter Jack Anxious To Start 2015 Racing Season At Lucas Oil Raceway

Almost a month delay in CRA Late Model Sportsman Series season opener has teenager more than ready

Auburn, Indiana (Tuesday, April 21, 2015): For the 2015 racing season, 14-year-old Hunter Jack will be making the move up to a traveling series for the 2015 racing season. Jack, the son of Outlaw Super Late Model standout, Brent Jack, will make a run for the 2015 Rookie of the Year title in the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series Powered by JEGS. The freshman title chase will start at the same place it was originally supposed too, Lucas Oil Raceway (IN).

 

The 6th annual Cabin Fever Championships which were scheduled for March 28-29th were canceled due to weather which moved the originally scheduled second race of the year, also at the immaculate 0.686 mile semi-banked paved oval, to the season opener. The Spring Classic 30, part of the Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series Presented by Visit Hendricks County. Although a non-points race for CRA, the event is for the LOR Stock Car Series title chase.

 

After the cancelation of the Cabin Fever Championships, Jack went to Baer Field Speedway (IN), which is close to his Auburn, Indiana home to shake down his ride for the 2015 season. “The car felt nice and smooth. Definitely a lot faster than last year I feel like we should be a lot better at Lucas Oil Raceway.” Stated the Hoosier State teenager. “I’m fired up and ready to get on the track and go fast.” He added.

 

In addition to running all 12 races within the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series, Jack will also race as often as possible at Angola Motorsport Speedway (IN) as well as at the newly reopened Baer Field Speedway (IN) in each tracks weekly Late Model Sportsman division. In addition, the teenager looks to make a handful of starts in one of his Dad’s Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models as well as an appearance in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.

 

Jack made two appearances in the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series in 2014 in anticipation of a full run in 2015. In his first ever appearance with CRA back on August 10th, 2014 when the series came to Angola, he finished sixth after starting 11th in the 50-lap main. His second and final race within the series was at LOR during the 2014 CRA Fall Brawl on September 28th he finished ninth after starting 12th. The first race of 2015 will be Jack’s second appearance in the Circle City while the events at Anderson Speedway and Winchester Speedway will be new tracks to the Hoosier State teenager.

 

Also during the 2014 season at Angola, Jack, in his rookie season scored a ninth place finish in the final point’s standings despite missing some events. He picked up one Feature Win which came on August 31st during Season Championships / Hall of Fame night as he led all 50 laps to post his first career Feature triumph in style. During the year, he posted consistent top five finishes throughout the second half of the season.
