Winchester, IN (October 8, 2026): The Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour Winchester 400 Presented by Vore’s Welding & Steel, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026, has been moved to Saturday evening, October 10, 2026. The change in date comes as a result of forecasted weather conditions.
With an unfavorable weather forecast likely for Sunday, Winchester Speedway and ASA STARS National Tour officials have made the decision to move the 55th Running of the Winchester 400 Presented by Vore’s Welding & Steel up to Saturday, October 10 at 6:00 PM. Officials have determined Saturday may be the best opportunity to get the race in..
The Winchester 400 is one of the country’s crown jewel stock car races and holds a special place in the racing community. Charlie Shaw always had the race fans and drivers in mind. This was considered during the decision making process.
“Charlie always wanted the race fans to win,” noted Winchester Speedway General Manager, Dan Redmond. “With the weather uncertainty, this is a win for fans and teams alike.”
“What a special way to honor Charlie with two race days in one!” Remarked Steve Vore, a longtime supporter of grass roots racing at Winchester Speedway.
