ASA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour to Battle Head-to-Head
Nashville, TN – Officials with Champion Racing Association and Flat Rock Speedway have announced the return of the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS in a combo event with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance. The race, scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd is a highly anticipated return to the Metro Detroit bullring which provided great racing and a competitive equalizer for the Super and Pro Late Model divisions in the first running of the combination race held in 2022. The Vandoorn Racing Development 125 sets the stage for another head-to-head throwdown.
The ASA/CRA Super Series made their first trip to the “Level Pebble” on September 8, 2012. Now NASCAR team member and Winchester 400 Champion, Travis Braden set fast time in the inaugural Flat Rock event. Scott Hantz, the all-time winningest driver with the ASA/CRA Super Series, captured the win ahead of Johnny VanDoorn and Jason Dietsch. Hantz won again in the Series’ return in August of 2013, Braden captured the win in 2014, it was Hunter Baize in 2015, Brian Campbell in 2017, Brian Bergakker in 2019, and Carson Hocevar won the final stand alone event in 2021.
In 2022 the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour became a part of the event after other entertaining combo races. Kevin Cremonsi, who just this season posted his best career finish of third with the JEGS Tour, put his No.28 at the top of the scoring pylon during qualifying. The race featured an even battle of Supers vs Pros, which ultimately went the way of the Super Late Model when Kyle Crump took the No.131 to victory lane. He was fortunate to get through lapped traffic as quickly as he did, with young Vandoorn Racing Development driver, Ethan Stadniczuk tracking him down via his Pro Late Model No.20. Justin Schroeder podiumed his No.4 car in the effort as well.
Tickets for the Vandoorn Racing Development 125 are expected to go on sale through the Speedway box office soon. Additional schedule information for both Series’ are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The next event for CRA is the 2023 Awards Ceremony scheduled for Friday, January 5th in Plymouth, IN. Those who wish to attend can fill out an RSVP, available online at CRA-Racing.com. Both the ASA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour return to on-track action on Saturday, January 20th during the Speedfest 2024 at Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordelle, GA.
