Officials with the Appalachian Sucker Punch, ASA Southern Super Series, Track Enterprises, and Tri-County Speedway have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s Carolina 250 event activities due to an increasingly unfavorable weather forecast for the region.
Forecasts for Saturday’s race day continue to show a high percentage chance of rain throughout the day and evening, while Friday’s outlook also includes scattered rain chances during the day with increasing precipitation expected Friday night into Saturday. After continued monitoring of multiple weather models and discussions among track and series officials, the decision was made in advance in an effort to avoid keeping teams, officials, fans, and traveling competitors at the facility for two additional days with limited opportunity to successfully complete the event program.
The Carolina 250 was scheduled to mark the first-ever visit for the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour to Tri-County Speedway and serve as the second half of the highly anticipated North Carolina Double Header weekend. The event was set to feature the stars of the ASA STARS National Tour and ASA Southern Super Series along with Legend Cars, Bandoleros, and Limited Late Models.
Officials are currently evaluating potential rescheduling options and expect to have more information soon regarding the future of the event. Fans who purchased tickets in advance will automatically receive refunds through the ticketing provider.
Officials from the ASA STARS National Tour, ASA Southern Super Series, Track Enterprises, and Tri-County Speedway would like to thank all teams, fans, sponsors, and partners for their support and understanding regarding the difficult decision.
