The Champ is Back

(Pensacola, FL) – Defending champion and one of the top Super Late Model drivers in North America, Cole Butcher will return to the Sunshine State 200 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch at Five Flags Speedway as part of the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour season.

Cole Butcher enters the season with tremendous momentum as he not only was the Champion of the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour but also the defending champion of the ASA/CRA Super Series and ASA Southern Super Series. His performance in ASA Southern Super Series competition was highlighted by three wins at Five Flags Speedway, along with a major triumph at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and a prestigious victory in the Florida Governor’s Cup at New Smyrna Speedway.

Last season with the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour Butcher was a four time winner. He won the Sunshine State 200 at Five Flags Speedway, Appalachian Sucker Punch 250 at Dominion Raceway, El Bandido Yankee Tequila 250 at Slinger Speedway and the Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway. Butcher will now set his sights on March 14th where he’ll try to win his third consecutive Sunshine State 200.

The Sunshine State 200 at Five Flags Speedway Race weekend begins Friday, March 13th with ASA STARS National Tour practice, followed by a full night of local racing featuring the Outlaws, Crown Stocks, and the Legacy Series. Saturday’s action shifts to an afternoon program, highlighted by Hamke Pole Qualifying at 11:00 AM, which will set the starting lineup for the 200-lap feature. The green flag for the Sunshine State 200 is scheduled for 1:05 PM. Fans unable to attend in person can watch both days of racing live on Track TV.
