Tar Heel 250 Moved Up 90 Minutes Due to Updated Forecast

Updated Schedule

(Hickory, NC) Officials with the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour, Southern Super Series, Track Enterprises, and Hickory Motor Speedway have announced a schedule adjustment for Thursday night’s Tar Heel 250 Presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch due to an improved weather forecast for the Hickory area.

With current forecasts now showing dry conditions through much of the evening before weather potentially arrives later at night, officials have elected to move the ASA STARS National Tour/Southern Super Series feature event up 90 minutes in an effort to provide the best possible opportunity to complete the full racing program.

The 250-lap Tar Heel 250 will now take the green flag at approximately 6:00 PM. ASA STARS National Tour qualifying will remain scheduled for 4:30 PM, followed by Legend Car feature racing at 5:00 PM leading directly into the evening’s Super Late Model main event.

A strong 26-car field — the largest ASA STARS field at Hickory during the modern era of the series — is expected for the event. Current series points leader Carson Brown enters the evening undefeated in ASA STARS competition this season, while a loaded field including Stephen Nasse, Bubba Pollard, Derek Thorn, William Sawalich, Tristan McKee, Isaac Kitzmiller, Jade Avedisian, Casey Roderick, and many others are expected to compete at “America’s Most Famous Short Track.”

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and can purchase tickets online in advance or at the gate on race day. Additional event information is available at www.starsnationaltour.com and www.hickorymotorspeedway.com
