Storylines From the Clyde Hart Memorial

(New Smyrna Beach, FL) – This past Tuesday night February 11th the ASA STARS National Tour kicked off the 2025 season at New Smyrna Speedway with the 26th Annual Clyde Hart Memorial. Let’s take a look back at some of the storylines that unfolded in the wild 200 lap event.

A Star Is Born
Each year someone emerges from the World Series of Asphalt as a breakout star. This year it was Gavan Boschele. Boschele kept his nose clean and waited for his moment and went on to run away with the Clyde Hart Memorial victory. Just two nights later he would go on to win the Orange Blossom 100 and win the Super Late Model World Series of Asphalt Championship.

Good Night For Nasse
After starting the race 31st, former Clyde Hart Memorial winner Stephen Nasse would make his way up to 6th at the completion of Stage 1. In Stage 2 Nasse would finish 10th. In the end he would make his way up to 5th moving up 26 positions in the 200 lap event.

David vs. Goliath
There are multiple full time teams in the ASA STARS National Tour. However that didn’t stop Cory Hall and his team from Jolicure, New Brunswick Canada. Hall started the race 11th and worked his way up to a 3rd place podium finish. Hall also won on Sunday night during World Series of Asphalt competition.

Welcome Back
Bubba Pollard returned to ASA STARS National Tour competition for the first time since the Capital 200 at Madison International Speedway back on June 14th. The defending winner of the Clyde Hart Memorial would go on to have a solid 9th place finish and make it through the 200 lap event in one piece.

Bell Returns
NASCAR Cup Series Star Christopher Bell got back behind the wheel of a Super Late Model on Tuesday night. Bell would start the race in 30th and work his way up to 6th. It was a sort of homecoming for Bell as he was once again teamed up with Crew Chief Bond Suss who helped Bell make the switch from dirt to asphalt back when Bell raced for KBM.

Sommers Has Strong Run
Plover, Wisconsin native Gabe Sommers had a solid start to the 2025 season in the Clyde Hart Memorial. During CorvetteParts.Net Pole Qualifying Sommers ended up 2nd quick. In the 200 lap main event Sommers would go on to have a strong 7th place finish after finishing 4th in Stage 1 and 9th in Stage 2.
