Ovid, MI – Kyle Steckly’s summer hot streak continues as he held off a strong field of Turn One CRA Pro Series by Chevrolet Performance drivers to win the Masters of the Pros 200 at Owosso Speedway.
Along with the trophy and accolades, Steckly also took home one of the more unique prizes in pro late model racing, his own green jacket.
Steckly, fresh off his first victory in ASA STARS National Tour at Madison International Speedway, held off challenges on late restarts to earn his first green jacket.
“It feels amazing, this one is special,” Steckly said in victory lane. “What a race, those restarts were exciting and made me work for it.”
Steckly took over the lead on lap 114 from current CRA Pro Series point leader Chase Pinsonneault. He would get a good jump on the late restarts to pull away while the rest of the field battled behind him for the final podium spots.
Pinsonneault was running second with a restart with 15 to go in the race. As the green flag flew, Steckly would get away from Pinsonneault while Blake Rowe and Tyler Lupton put Pinsonneault in the middle of a three-way battle with Rowe gaining the second spot.
Steckly would pull away from Rowe to a 2.931-second victory with Rowe holding off a late challenge from Lupton for the second spot.
Pinsonneault would finish fourth, while Keelan Harvick would battle and beat out Billy Van Meter for the fifth spot.
Dan Leeck would finish seventh, with former NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick finishing eighth. Chase Burda and Weston Marthaler rounded out the top ten.
The Turn One CRA Pro Series presented by Chevrolet Performance will be back in action on Friday, July 31st, with the Van Doorn Racing Development Dixie 100 at Birch Run Speedway in Birch Run, MI.
